Members of the governing National Democratic Congress on December 20, 2014 successfully held their 8th National Delegates' Congress at the Babayara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, to elect new executives to lead the party ahead of 2016 General Elections.

The programme went on smoothly.

The 3,600 delegates elected 23 executives to occupy various positions of the party.

The congress elected Mr. Kofi Portuphy as National Chairman, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah retained his position as General Secretary while Mr. Kofi Adams beat the incumbent Yaw Boateng Gyan to win the National Organiser position.

Dr Kwabena Adjei, aka “Wayo Wayo’ aka 'Nkonya Terminator', was 'terminated' by the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) boss, Mr. Portuphy.

The victory of Kofi Adams took center stage at the congress as his supporters kept jubilating and taking pictures with him anytime they saw him around after the voting.

Alhaji Huudu Yahaya, who was the first General Secretary of the party and also a National Vice-Chairman, dropped a bombshell minutes before voting began by announcing his decision to withdraw from the race leaving the race.

However, the Supporters became tired after 12 midnight and some ended up sleeping on the pitch.

The Electoral Commission later announced the results which saw winners celebrate with losers showing faces of shock and agony.
