A solemn burial ceremony was held on Sunday, August 10, for the two Muslim victims of the August 6 helicopter crash.
The former Minister for Environment Dr Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala, and former Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed, died en route to the launch of the Responsible Co-operative Mining and Skills Development Programme (COMSDEP) in Obuasi to address illegal mining.

The burial, which took place at the Forecourt of the State House, brought together a host of high-profile dignitaries, including President John Mahama, the Vice President, the Speaker of Parliament, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and the National Chief Imam.

Muslim 'Jannaza' prayers were also held for the two departed Muslims. Their remains were then transferred to the Military Cemetery in Accra, where their final burial rites took place.

While the two Muslim victims are being buried today, a larger inter-denominational state funeral for all eight victims is scheduled for Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Black Star Square.
