The Minister of Transport, Collins Dauda has inaugurated a five member committee tasked to establish the cause of the Saturday’s plane crash in Accra.
According to Multi TV’s Joojo Cobbinah who was at the inauguration, the committee has been given 30 days to present their findings.
He added the task of the committee chaired by Captain Alex Grant Sam, include the extent of the damage and also the cause of the accident that claimed ten lives.
Eight of the deceased have been identified and the Minister of Transport further revealed he will pay a visit to the bereaved families and give them the needed support.
Meanwhile Police have asked the public who might have lost a relation to come the Airport Police for the identification of the victims.
According to Superintendent Fosu Ackah Anderson of the Airport District Police, people suspecting to have lost a relation should desist from going to the morgue but rather call on the Airport Police Station where they would be guided through the identification process.
No less than 10 people died after an Allied Air cargo plane skidded off the runway at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra Saturday evening and ran into a 207 Benz bus on a nearby road and shredded it and its passengers into pieces.
The plane crashed through metal railings and a concrete wall at the airport before sweeping the commercial bus off the 37 Military Hospital – Burma Camp road at the El Wak Stadium and ended up at the Hajj Village.
