The Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) held a public forum to discuss press freedom and attacks on journalists in the country.
The theme for the event was "Re-examining freedom of expression, ethics and threats to the safety of journalists."
The event chaired by the GIJ Deputy Rector, Prof Eric Opoku Mensah, was held at the school’s North Dzorwulu campus.
The panel members included the Head of the Communication Studies Department at GIJ, Dr Ebo Afful; the Director-General of Legal and Prosecutions for the Ghana Police Service, COP Nathan Kofi Boakye and the Executive Secretary of the National Media Commission, George Sarpong.
