Parliament on April 1 passed three new revenue measures in government’s bid to generate revenue of about ¢4 billion internally.
The revenue measures namely the Income Tax Amendment Bill, The Excise Duty Amendment Bill, and the Growth and Sustainability Amendment Bill are to enable government complete processes to secure a $3 billion International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme.
However, industry as well as some Ghanaians have been agitated about the passing of these new measures saying it will lead to the collapse and relocation of businesses in the country.
Join JoyNews' Newsfile to learn about additional concerns about the revenue measures, as well as solutions proposed to help salvage the situation.
Meanwhile, the analysis programme also discussed why the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) is demanding the immediate resignation of Dr. Peter Appiahene and Hajia Salima Ahmed Tijani as members of the Electoral Commission (EC).
