Since the inception of the World Cup, only four African teams have managed to proceed to the Quarterfinals of the tournament.
The latest African team to make it through to the quarterfinal stage of the ongoing World Cup is Morocco. Cameroun was the first team to set this record followed by Senegal in 2002 and Ghana in 2010.
