Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta in his Mid-year budget on Monday revealed government’s innovative strategy to raise funds to facilitate the rehabilitation and extension of the Tema Motorway, a critical road network in the country.
According to him, government in line with the Public Private Partnership Act, 2020 (Act 1039) will establish a concession agreement between the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF) and the Roads and Highway Ministry that will sponsor the 27.7-kilometer project.
He added that the said project upon completion will be tolled.
However, this comment has agitated some members of the public, prompting them to inquire as to why the toll was cancelled hence the discussion on tonight's PM Express to find answers.
Guests for today’s discussion are Deputy Roads and Highways Minister, Stephen Pambiin Jalulah, Civil Engineer, Ing. Abdulai Mahama and Director of Building and Roads Research Institute (BRRI of CSIR), Dr Daniel Asenso-Gyambibi.
