Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Tuesday delivered a public lecture on Ghana’s digital economy and how the government has used digitization to achieve many milestones, including addressing social and economic issues in the country.
The lecture, which happened at Ashesi University, was centered on the topic “Using digitalization to transform an economy – The Ghana story”.
Dr. Bawumia, who spearheaded the government’s digitalisation drive, explained the government’s vision and measures undertaken so far to realise the digitalization agenda.
A number of them including babies receiving National ID, Ghana Card becoming e-passport by next year, introduction of digital currency, e-cedi among others triggered today's discussion on PM Express.
JoyNews' Evans Mensah together with his guests; Spokesperson for the Vice President, Dr Gideon Boako, Chief Executive of Ghana Chamber of Telecommunication, Dr Kenneth Ashigbey, Dean of University of Ghana Business School, Prof John Gatsi and Accra Regional Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association, Dr Winfred Baah expressed their views on the topic for discussion, Thus, ‘Bawumia and the digitalization agenda: Reality check.’
