Two suspected car snatchers have been arrested by the Tesano Police for stealing an Opel Astra Taxi cab with registration number GT 3391 S and Accra Metropolitan Assembly registration number G 438.Briefing the Press, in Accra on Thursday the District Superintendent of Police, Philip Kwasi Dugah said on May 5 this year, the two suspects - Kwame Asare, a driver and Kojo Nketia, hawker both 23 years were arrested by the police in Kumasi and later referred to the Tesano Police Station, where the case was earlier on reported.According to D.S.P Dugah, the two suspects conspired to steal the vehicle after it had been packed by the driver, Ebenezer Appiah at Akweteman in Accra at about 0200 hours.The suspects then drove the vehicle to Kumasi where they contacted a dealer who lived around a police station.The dealer offered to pay ¢15 million for the vehicle on condition that they produced the documents covering it but the police arrested them during the bargaining."Both suspects were escorted together with the vehicle to the Tesano Police Station where the case was reported", he said.He noted that the suspects had confessed to the crime and would be put before court shortly.Source: GNA
