The Ghana Police Service says it has all security arrangement are far advanced ahead of the mammoth rally of the two biggest parties; governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Tema.
Tema Regional Police Commander ASP, Juliana Obeng, says they are very much ready for the event such that if the elections were to be held today, they would have covered every blade of grass.
The harbor city will be the centre of intense presidential political activity this Sunday as the flagbearers of the two parties will pitch their campaign trails.
For an area which traditionally votes NPP, the NDC is fighting to win the three seats and the political rallies will take place within one hour difference.
While the NPP will hold its Greater Accra Rally at the Akojo Park in Community 1 at 2 p.m with the three-time Presidential Candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the NDC's Ebi Bright will launch her campaign with the President expected in attendance at 1p.m at the Coca-Cola Park in Community 7.
Party faithful is expected to show up in their numbers to show support for the two parties some 39 days as party activities reach fever pitch.
ASP Obeng has assured supporters of both parties to be confident as their security is guaranteed with a lot of police on the ground.
