It is emerging that a senior Commissioner of Police (COP) has been picked up by a combined team of National Security and Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) operatives, for his alleged involvement in an elaborate plot to destabilise the country.
Online news portals are reporting that the said COP is alleged to have been in close contact with the alleged coup plotters and had been designated to read out a broadcast to the nation after the takeover of government machinery.

The revelation about the involvement of the top police personnel follows a forensic examination of the phones and other communication gadgets said to belong to the leader of the alleged coup conspirators, Dr Yao Mac-Palm, the reports indicate.“A deep throat source familiar with the new development told MyNewsGh.com that ‘he (the unnamed police commissioner) is not being treated as a suspect yet. He has been invited to assist in the investigation based on the intercepted message exchanges,’” the news portal reports further.
Joy News sources at the police headquarters say they have seen the media reports but cannot confirm the story.
