The Ghana Police Service has approved the new arrangement by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for its demonstration against the Bank of Ghana.
This comes after the party, for the second time, rescheduled its planned protest to demand the resignation of the Central Bank governors for October 3.
While the exercise had earlier been rescheduled to Tuesday, September 12 due to a police injunction against the chosen route of the protest over national security concerns, this new date is in response to the commencement of the limited voters registration exercise.
But in a fresh statement, the Accra Regional Commander of the Service says they "will provide the required security for the demonstration in line with the Public Order Act 1994 (ACT 491)."

The police further urged the NDC to take measures to ensure that peace is not breached while calling on protestors to "conduct themselves in a peaceful manner before, during and after."
The route
The press release signed by COP Sayibu Gariba further reminded the group of the agreed routes.
"You are hereby reminded of the following: a. To keep to the route of Obra Spot - Adabraka - Ridge Roundabout - National Theatre Traffic Light - High Court Complex Traffic Light - Atta Mills Highway - U- Tum to Independence Square."
This demonstration is geared towards seeing the resignation of the Bank of Ghana Governor and his deputies over alleged mismanagement.
