The Out Patient Department as well as the Accident and Emergency ward of the Police Hospital in Accra will be temporarily closed from today, May 22 to Monday, May 25.
The closure is to allow for renovation works.
Director General of the Public Affairs Department of the Ghana Police Service, DCOP David Ampah-Bennin, says the renovation is to help the hospital deliver efficient service.
He said the renovations when done will make it easy for people with certain physical disabilities to move around the facility.
Meanwhile, seriously ill persons who intend to visit the Police Hospital during the weekend have been advised to seek medical attention in other health facilities.

PARTIAL CLOSURE OF POLICE HOSPITAL
The Police Hospital Administration would like to announce for the information of the general public that due to the periodic works at the hospital, some departments of the health facility would be closed to the public from tomorrow, Friday, 22nd May to Monday, 25th May, 2015.
The closure is to enable the hospital undertake a periodic renovation works for efficient service delivery to our cherished clientele.
The affected units and departments are:
- Accident and Emergency Ward
- Out Patients Department [OPD]
Meanwhile, the hospital wishes to assure the public that there are arrangements in place to ensure that patients are attended to and where necessary referred to other medical facilities for attention.
We wish to reiterate that the hospital would be fully opened to the public on Monday, 25th May, 2015.
While soliciting for the cooperation of the public for a successful exercise and improved service, the Police Hospital Administration wishes to apologize for any inconvenience caused.
