The Volta Regional Police Command has impounded four vehicles with foreign registration numbers in an operation to clamp down on cross-border crimes and other related offences in the Region.
The vehicles have been handed over to the Customs Excise and Preventive Services (CEPS).
A release signed by Police Inspector Joy Afagbedzi of the Public Affairs Directorate of the Regional Police Command stated that most of such vehicles were suspected to be stolen or without relevant documents.
The release said the Command had observed with concern the proliferation and use of such vehicles in recent times for criminal activities and would not "sit down idly for a few unscrupulous persons to hold the Region and its people to ransom".
It appealed to the public to cooperate with the Police as it intensified efforts at maintaining law and order in the Region.
