An invigilator at just-ended Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is being sought by the police helping a student to perpetrate exam malpractice.
Mr. R. G. Mawutor, allegedly provided answers on the agriculture examination paper to a candidate during the examinations.
He is a former agriculture teacher of Infant Jesus School at Penkwasi in Sunyani.
Police Superintendent Charles Botwe told the GNA that the student, Stella Dufie, was seen on April 23 in the examination hall with a sheet of paper that contained answers to the entire Agriculture Paper One.
He said the invigilator collected the paper from the girl and handed her over to the police and when interrogated the girl mentioned Mawutor as the one who gave her the paper in the examination hall.
Mr Botwe said the police went to Infant Jesus School but were shown a copy of Mawutor’s dismissal letter that took effect three weeks earlier.
The police were not told the reason for his dismissal.
Superintendent Botwe appealed to the public to assist the police with information that could lead to his arrest.
