The Bono Regional Police Command has met the funeral committee of the Sunyani traditional area following the abuse of some residents for defying funeral dress code for mourning their late queen mother.
According to a statement signed by Chief Supt Nana Kwaku Duah, the Region’s Crime Officer, on Wednesday, the committee is to henceforth uphold the individual rights of citizens and not repeat the incident recorded on Wednesday morning.
Chief Supt Duah also indicated that the Command has started an investigation into the incident.
Palace executioners and some police officers at the Sunyani traditional area were caught on camera assaulting some residents for defying funeral orders in the area ahead of the burial of Nana Yaa Nyamah.
