One of the six activists of the New Patriotic Party in the Tain constituency of the Brong Ahafo Region arrested last Saturday for her alleged involvement in violence has been granted bail.
Amina Adams, who is the party’s Tain Constituency Treasurer was considered on medical grounds.
Brong Ahafo regional chairman of the NPP, Asomah Cheremeh told Joy News attempts to secure bail for the rest including the party’s Parliamentary candidate, Ofori Amanfo have so far been unsuccessful.
The six are under investigations for their involvement in clashes between NDC and NPP supporters at a biometric registration center at Sabieh, a village near Nsorkor.
One person was reportedly stabbed in the neck during that incident. But the NPP regional Chairman insists they are innocent.
Mr Asamoah Cheremeh described as unprofessional the actions by the police and called for the immediate release of his colleagues.
According to him, his colleagues have not been charged for any crime and yet have been kept in police custody for days.
He said the stipulated 48 hours by a which a suspect can be kept in police custody are up and his colleagues must be released.
The Brong Ahafo Police have not been available for comments yet.
