Three Policemen were on Thursday put before an Accra Circuit Court for their involvement in the attack and stealing of monies and belongings of a Ghanaian businessman at a hotel at Dworwulu in Accra
They are Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Patrick Kwapong, Chief Inspector (C/I) Thomas Adu and Sergeant (Sgt.) John Adjapong.
The court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of General Corporal Lawrence Dennis who did not turn up in court and four other accomplices who are at large.
They are being held on charges of conspiracy, unlawful entry and stealing.
DSP Kwapong, C/I Adu and Sgt. Adjapong pleaded not guilty to the charges and have been admitted to bail in the sum of GH 10,000 cedis with two sureties each and are expected to report to the Police every Wednesday.
They are to reappear on March 11.
Although no facts were read out, the accused were said to have been involved in the attack of Mr Kwaku Duah who is domiciled in Europe in his hotel at Dworwulu, Accra on February 2, this year.
The accused took away his monies including 53,000 United State Dollars, 800 pounds, GH¢ 2,000; a black bag containing two bunches of keys, and a Standard Chartered Bank Cheque Book.
