Ghanaian app development and social media strategy company, PopOut Ghana Limited is holding an intensive two-day workshop on ‘social media for businesses’ to empower young entrepreneurs with skills on how to maximize the potential of social media to boost their businesses.
The paid workshop, slated for October 2nd and 3rd at the Kofi Annan ICT Centre of Excellence in Accra, is expected to treat topics like introduction to the internet and worldwide web, fundamentals of social media, setting social media objectives and understanding major social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Youtube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Alerts and WordPress.
It would also expose participants to how to effectively use social storage tools like Dropbox and Google Drive.
On the management side of things, the workshop promises to bring participants to speed on how to create and broadcast quality content through social media, and also treat various topics on how to develop and deploy strategies for social media among other things.
A statement from PopOut noted Social Media for Businesses is the intensive hands-on workshop is aimed at teaching participants how to effectively create, manage and measure the social media presence for their businesses.
“Participants will also be taught the tested techniques, insights, strategies and best practices using various case studies,” it said, adding “It will be an interactive and practical session of learning facilitated by industry professionals as well as CEOs who have used social media effectively for their business.”
PopOut CEO, Maximus Ametorgoh believes “businesses need to be in time with the digital marketing revolution which is changing the way business is done and how customers engage.”
He said PopOut has lined up some of the leading professionals on the social media and business startup front as facilitators at the workshop. They include avid entertainment/technology blogger, Ameyaw Debrah of AmeyawDebrah.com, Edward Amartey Tagoe of Blogging Ghana, Emperor Tonyi Seneya of Horseman Shoes, Aba Da-Woode of Miss Dee Clothing and Maximus Ametorgoh himself being the lead facilitator.
He said participants would be required to pay GHS350 for the two-day workshop, which entitles them to learning materials, snacks and a certificate at the end of the workshop.
