President of the African Paralympic Committee, Samson Deen, is calling for the postponement of its Games from September to November as a result of the delay in the completion of facilities.
Ghana seems not to be ready to host the event which is expected to be held between 3 and 12 September 2023 in Accra.
The Legon stadium, a venue earmarked for track and field actions, is yet to be completed which puts the continental showpiece at risk of not starting on time.
In an interview with Joy Sports, Deen revealed that proposals have been submitted to push the starting date further, to give room for work to be completed.
"We had a stakeholder meeting with the international federations and at the same time, the entire African membership where we have made a bit of proposals to postpone the games from September to November to try to fix the challenges before time," he said.
The tentative plan to postpone the games is yet to be communicated.
