Customers at the Osu branch of the Ghana Commercial Bank were stranded on Tuesday afternoon because there was no power to enable them access the services of the bank.The bank’s power plant also broke down after working for a few hours. When Joy Business Report visited the premises, some of the customers were still waiting after several hours, hoping to cash some money for their various commitments.One customer, who said he needed to remit his ward at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology urgently, said he was too embarrassed.Several other customers who said they tried the bank’s nearby branches at the Trade Fair Centre at La and the High Street could not access services because of the power outage.Some were visibly angry and said the situation was unacceptable in this day and age.The Public Relations Officer of Bank, Nana Duncan who apologised profusely to the affected customers for the discomforts, described the situation as unfortunate and said the bank was indeed serving its customers until the power outage, caused by a broken cable of the Electricity Company.
