Parliamentary candidate for the Progressive People’s Party(PPP) in the Wa Central constituency of the Upper West Region, James Sohimwininye has stated will provide jobs for the people when given the nod as MP.
That, he said would be the fundamental difference between him and the incumbent MP for Wa Central, Rashid Hassan Pelpuo.
He stated that per the symbol of the party which is the rising sun it ‘‘shows time to work’’ and people need not to sit down idle waiting for manna to fall from heaven.
James Sohimwininye said this in an interaction with media personnel in Wa.
He said jobs are indispensable in every community and all hands must be on deck to providing them.
‘‘Talking about creation of jobs, I know that I am not an MP but all those who know me know that I have created jobs directly and indirectly with the meager resources that I have.
I believe that if I get this opportunity I would be able to create more jobs especially having the leader of my party at the forefront, Dr. Paa Kwesi who every knows he is brain when it comes to job creation’’, Sohimwininye added.
The PPP parliamentary candidate who also doubles as the Assembly Man for Zingu electoral in the Wa municipality conceded that he is an underdog in the ‘‘battle of the Wa central Wa constituency seat’’ which is being held by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) since 1993 but he says he has no fears because his interaction with most of the people showed that ‘‘apart from the people wanting change they want where their bread will be buttered."
