James Kwabena Appiah-Awuah, Nkoranza District Chief Executive, has urged churches to hold prayer sessions to enhance the prevailing peace and stability in the country.
This was contained in an address read for him at the close of a five-day annual camp meeting of members of the Nkoranza North district of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church at Dromankese.
Mr. Appiah-Awuah described the year 2008 as very crucial because of the general election, stressing the need for the entire citizenry to pray for God's guidance to make the polls violence free.
He also urged parents to take advantage of the capitation grant and the school feeding programme and enrol their children in schools.
Mr Appiah-Awuah lauded a proposal by the SDA to open a Senior Secondary School in the area and commended plans by the district assembly to support the project with a block of three classrooms.
Pastor Daniel Kwame Marri, a retired pastor of the SDA, urged the youth to be self-disciplined and eschew negative and unhealthy lifestyles.
He entreated the unemployed youth to learn vocations or engage themselves in income-generating ventures to enhance their livelihood.
