The Design and Technology Institute (DTI) has indicated that its coaching on precision quality series for Small and Medium Enterprises and master craft persons is directed at aiding them expand their operations.
According to Acting Project Coordinator for the Design and Technology Institute, Edwin Fayosey, this is required to streamline their activities to generate more income.
The training according to him, is part of DTI’s strategy to work with key stakeholders to enable three million young people, particularly women, to access dignified and fulfilling work opportunities by 2030 using a multiplier approach.
“They are here to have some coaching on Precision Quality which is crucial to their operations. This is very important because it aid in expanding their businesses. We have been doing this and we will continue in other part of the country”, he said
The coaching for Mastercraft Persons and Small and Medium Enterprises is a follow-up to the Precision Quality training where they were introduced and taken through the PQ model and how they can leverage on the knowledge to grow their business. The coaching activity is performed to ensure that the knowledge impacted during the PQ training is embedded and implemented in the daily activities of MCPs and SMEs.
The coaching programme forms part of a three-year “Transforming youth TVET livelihoods for sustainable jobs’’ partnership between DTI and the Mastercard Foundation, as part of the Foundation’s Young Africa Works strategy in Ghana.
The programme will provide 40,000 direct and indirect work opportunities for young people in the country.
The Design and Technology Institute (DTI) is a center of excellence for youth job creation through specialized skills training in Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET). As the sole privately accredited TVET institution in Ghana, DTI is leading the delivery of precision quality training that promises to transform TVET education in Ghana and across the African continent.
