President John Agyekum Kufuor left Accra on Wednesday for Cannes, France, to attend the 24th summit of heads of Africa and France.
He was accompanied by some senior government officials.
The summit, which is scheduled for February 15-16 under the theme: "Africa and the World Balance", would deliberate on issues of multilateral interest.
A release signed by Mr Andrew Awuni, Presidential Spokesman, said the heads of state would also review the commitments made at the 23rd summit held in Bamako, Mali, in 2005 in the areas of cooperation in the arts, culture and trade.
He said other areas to be reviewed include migration, integration of the youth in the political process and employment.
President Kufuor is expected back on February 19th 2007.
At the airport to see him off were ministers of state, the IGP Mr Patrick Acheampong, Chief of the Defence Staff Lieutenant General J.B. Danquah and other government officials.
