President Mills has paid tribute to the founding fathers, staff and those whose contribution has lifted the image of Achimota School, his alma mater.
He however says there are growing threats facing the school’s fortunes and has called on old students to join hands to help bring back the school’s past glories.
President Mills was addressing Achimota Schools 84th Founders Day on Saturday.
He said “Achimota has gone through very rough times, Achimota has undergone many changes. The story is not palatable… The Achimota of today regrettably is not the Achimota of 6o years ago, however it is up to us who are the beneficiaries of whatever Achimota possesses to try and lift Achimota up to its former glory.”
President Mills also advised the youth to be of good behaviour and strive for excellence.
“… What can you do to position yourselves in such a way that you can take over the mantle of leadership?” he quizzed.
He said it is only through discipline and hardwork that students can be focused on their goals in life and that such principles should form the basis of every decision they take.
