President John Evans Atta Mills has revoked the appointments of all metropolitan/Municipal/District Chief Executives, with immediate effect.A release signed by Mr Joseph Yieleh Chireh, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development said they are therefore to hand over properly to the Metropolitan/Municipal/District Co-ordinating Directors, while the Regional Minister will have oversight responsibility of Metropolitan/Municipal/District Assemblies in their regions until substantive Metropolitan/Municipal/District Chief Executives are in place.The release said in the case of the Upper East Region, the Upper West Regional Minister will take charge of the Municipal and District Assemblies in that region until a substantive Regional Minister is appointed.The President thanked all the outgoing Metropolitan/Municipal/District Chief Executives for their services to the nation.Source: GNA
