Alexander Afenyo-Markin, Presiding Member of the Efutu Municipal Assembly, was last Friday officially called to the Ghana Bar as a qualified legal practitioner with license to practice.
Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Wood administered the Oath of Office to Mr. Markin as one of the newly qualified lawyers at a brief but impressive ceremony that attracted some of the best brains in Ghana’s legal fraternity.
In all, some 52 newly qualified lawyers, including Ken Anku, former communications consultant to the Ministry of Road Transport, were called to the Bar.
“My call to the Bar is a duty to God and mankind. I am looking forward to becoming an accomplished lawyer that believes in the rule of law and justice. Law is something I have affection for and I would practice it to the fullest. If there are any heights to be attained in this profession, I hope to reach there,” Markin noted.
Alexander Markin, 31, is one of the youngest and successful business entrepreneurs in Ghana today.
He is the Chief Executive of Excel Courier Ghana Limited; a subsidiary of Excel Holdings Ghana Ltd, the Director of New Era Consult and the Chairman of Dalex Construction & Trading Ghana Ltd.
