Members of a pressure group, Justice for Ghana have requested the Police to transport its leaders to and from the Regional Command in Accra for a meeting over an intended protest.
The group intends to picket at Revolution Square from November 28 to November 30 over what they describe as excruciating hardship in the country.
The Police subsequently requested a meeting on the matter, but the group responded that they are financially constrained and cannot afford to transport themselves to the meeting.
In a letter to the Greater Accra Regional Commander, Justice for Ghana wrote, “Following your phone call for a meeting with us, the leadership of Justice for Ghana at the behest of the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, I should like to inform you that considering our strained financial circumstances, we are currently unable to attend your proposed meeting at such short notice.”

“However, we would be grateful if the Regional Police Command could bring one of their cars to pick us from Freedom center at Kokomlemle to the meeting and bring us back,” they requested.
They further demanded that they should be given a copy of the letter from the IGP directing a meeting to be held on the protest.
JoyNews understands that the Police is yet to respond to this request by Justice for Ghana. The Group has thus not attended the meeting.
