Prestea Voluntary Association (PVA) made up of Prestea citizens resident in Italy has donated hospital items valued at 54,000 Ghana Cedis to Prestea Government Hospital.
The items included 20 thermometres, 6 blood pressure apparatus, 40 beds, 70 mattresses, 100 blankets and 100 bed sheets.
Presenting the items Mr Samuel Esuman, President of PVA, said the association raised the money through voluntary contributions.
He said PVA would construct a modern mortuary for the hospital and appealed to parents whose children are living in Italy to talk to them to join tha association.
Mr Albert Obbin, Member of Parliament for Prestea/Huni-Valley, commended PVA for the donation.
He said with the creation of the Prestea/Huni-Valley District, the hospital would be upgraded to a district hospital.
