The CAL Bank Beach Soccer Premier League is going into its fourth Matchday this Saturday. Teams from the coastal lines of the country will meet once again at the La Pleasure Beach soccer arena to battle it out in the heat of the sun.
Wuo Gbεε will be looking to bounce back from their disappointment against Layoca in the La derby last weekend. The La outfit will welcome Osu Dolphins. The latter are rooted at the bottom of the 10-team table. Wuo Gbee striker Richard Osa could relish victory against the Dolphins’ weak defence which is responsible for conceding 13 goals in 3 matches. Nonetheless, there should be no room for complacency among Wuo Gbee’s players. It must be noted that Osu Dolphins are capable of putting in some beautiful displays.
The second game of the day will see East Legon Sharks testing their strength against league leaders Keta Sunset Sports. Having clinched a hard-fought 2-1 win over Senya Bereku Sharks last week, the Legon club will be looking to improving on the sharpness of its forwards. East Legon’s strikers might have to be clinical against the unbeaten Keta Sunset Sports. The latter are set on maintaining their lead in the standings.
Later on, Dansoman Beach Soccer Club will face the difficult task of trying to stop a resurgent Layoca side. Layoca have won all their games since their opening day collapse against the mighty Keta. Dansoman, in the meantime, gradually warmed up into the competition. They should find belief from their 4-2 dumping of Osu Dolphins last week. The clash between Dansoman and Layoca promises to produce much excitement knowing that both teams have found their form. They also share the same ambition of continuing on their winning path.
In what can be called a relegation battle, Tegbi Youth will come up against Senya Bereku Sharks. The two adversaries are on 3 points in the CAL Bank Beach Soccer Premier League table; only goal difference separates one team from the other.
Tegbi Youth’s only points came from their 4-0 victory over Ada last weekend. They’ll be looking to build on that resounding victory. However, Senya Bereku Sharks will be counting on the fitness of their players to overcome Tegbi. Senya’s coach, Ato Dadzie, had blamed his team’s defeat to East Legon Sharks on the absence of his 2 strikers. This time round, perhaps, they’ll be available for selection. A win for any of the 2 sides will be a major boost as the relegation battle is already underway.
Finally, Ada Assurance will take on the wounded Havedzi Mighty Warriors. Last Saturday, the Warriors lost out to Keta. This week, they’ll try to record a victory against the inconsistent Assurance side yet to grab its second win in the championship. With another woeful performance, Ada Assurance will offer Havedzi Mighty Warriors an immense chance to get back to the top of the league
