President John Mahama has assured the international community there will be no change in Ghana’s foreign and defence policies adding he remains committed to the various treaties and agreements signed during the tenure of the late President Mills.
He was speaking at a meeting with the diplomatic corps in Accra.
“Ghana probably could not have made the kind of strides and progress that it has without the support that you have given us; you continue to encourage and support us and I want to express our appreciation to you,” he said.
On the December elections, President Mahama promised to ensure that the polls were conducted in a peaceful, free and fair atmosphere.
He said adequate security will be provided to ensure the safety of all.
