The Nkawie Divisional Police Command in the Ashanti Region has received a Dongfeng Rich 6 pickup vehicle to strengthen its patrol operations in Nkawie and nearby communities.
The donation, made through the Ashanti Regional Police Command, is part of ongoing efforts to improve security and support law enforcement in the region. It comes at a time when the police are increasing patrols in parts of the Ashanti Region to help prevent crime and ensure public safety.

The pickup vehicle was officially presented to the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, at the regional police headquarters in Kumasi.
The vehicle was donated on behalf of Mr. Jubilidu Seidu, a hotel operator based in the Atwima Nwabiagya South District.
Speaking during the presentation, Alhaji Ousman Musah, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Ghana National Association of Small Scale Miners, highlighted the importance of private support in complementing police efforts.

He said security is a shared responsibility and urged more individuals and organizations to support the police. “We cannot leave everything on the shoulders of the police. If we want to feel safe in our communities, then we must be ready to support them with the tools and resources they need.”
Michael Adu-Gyamfi, Ashanti Region Secretary of the same association, also emphasized the role of community collaboration in promoting peace and security.
He added that strengthening police patrols directly benefits the public, especially in mining communities prone to criminal activities. He stated, “When security improves, our lives and businesses are protected. It is in our interest as citizens and stakeholders to contribute to these efforts.”

The Ashanti Regional Police Command expressed gratitude for the gesture and called on other individuals, businesses, and groups to support the police with resources to improve crime prevention across the region.
Police authorities say the donated vehicle will enhance patrols and quick response in the Nkawie area and surrounding towns, contributing to safer communities.
