The Private Enterprises Foundation has called on utility companies to ensure more efficient service delivery to consumers in the country.Reacting to the recent hike in fuel prices, PEF said that is one sure way the utility companies can help mitigate the impact of the fuel costs on the operations of businesses which rely heavily on generators.Director-General Dr. Boeh-Occansey told Joy business the hardest hit will be the manufacturing sector which is already under severe pressure.“Already, manufacturing has been growing at [a] negative rate. We need a special programme to be able to put manufacturing back [on the path of positive growth].”Dr Boeh-Occansey said the inefficiencies of the utility companies was an additional cost on the operation of productive enterprises and warned if something urgent was not done, “the manufacturing sector is going to vanish completely.”Source: Joy Business/Ghana
