President John Mahama has appointed the Chief Research Scientist at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission, Prof Francis Otoo, as the acting Director-General of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NRA).
The appointment was made in accordance with Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 15(1) of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority Act, 2015 (Act 895).
This was contained in a letter signed by Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President.
The statement said the appointment is pending the constitutionally required advice from the Authority’s Governing Board and the Public Services Commission.
“I take this opportunity to congratulate you on your appointment,” the letter said, requesting Prof Otoo to confirm his acceptance within seven days of receiving the correspondence.
