The Convenor of the Think Africa Forum Victor Moffatt has underscored the need to focus more attention on protecting the integrity of the Judiciary and all other state institutions, while ignoring individuals who speak negatively of Judges.
Mr. Moffat described as unfortunate, attempts to destroy the positive reputation Ghana’s judiciary has earned, as a result of the recent election petition case. He said in many of the instances, the "irresponsible" comments are made by persons who rather ought to know best.
He was speaking on ‘Inside Afrika’, a Pan-African Development program on Accra-based Radio Universe.
He said Ghana has set a good example in terms indicating to the world that it is a credible democratic nation that understands systems and respects structures per the peaceful adjudication of the petition challenging the results of the 2012 presidential elections.
Mr. Moffat further added that the peaceful resolution of the election petition case is supposed to “forge us together as one people, with one destiny, in one country”.
