The Asrobenhene of Juaben Traditional Council is urging Ghanaians to support the government in improving the quality of education in the country.
Nana Badu Boateng says since the government alone cannot meet the infrastructure needs of all basic schools, there is a need for citizens, especially those living abroad, to support.
He spoke at an event to commission a renovated six-unit classroom block for Atia Basic M/A School in the Juaben Municipality.

Atia Basic M/A School was in poor condition which adversely affected quality education. Atia residents living abroad came to the rescue of the school and put it into good shape.
Nana Boateng urged residents to take their education seriously in order to make an impact on society in the future.

Headmistress of the school, Juliet Gyasi Nketia, expressed gratitude to the residents and appealed to stakeholders to help equip the school for improved teaching and learning.
She stated that the school lacks computers for effective ICT education.

"The furniture that we use in the IT Centre are broken beyond repairs," she said.
Madam Juliet added that teenage pregnancy is becoming a challenge in school, a situation which has affected girlchild education in the area.
She said the poor road network is another concern residents want to be addressed.

The Chief of Atia, Nana Adu Boahen II, appealed to the government to help improve infrastructure in the community.
