A severe rainstorm, which recently hit parts of the Hohoe District, destroyed 34 houses and displaced a total of 129 people.Mr. Ben Asimenu, the District Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), who disclosed this to GNA at Hohoe at the weekend.He said the storm affected Hohoe-Zongo, Gbi-Bla, Gbi-Kpeme, Logba and Leklebi areas and cost of property destroyed was about 50,000 Ghana cedis.He said the library of the Gbi-Kpeme Junior High School, Kindergarten of the Ve-Koleonu Evangelical Primary and the Logba-Vuinta Local Authority Primary were affected by the disaster.Mr. Asimenu said a report and requisition for relief items for displaced victims had been forwarded to NADMO regional and national offices for the appropriate action.He appealed to philanthropists and non-governmental organizations including Churches to come to the aid of affected persons.Source: GNA
