Ghana legend Abedi Pele reckons Milovan Rajevac must throw on his best attacking talent as Ghana looks for the win that will prolong their stay in the on-going Africa Cup of Nations.
The Black Stars need to beat Burkina Faso to avoid a first round exit and Abedi Pele reckons Rajevac must play attacking football from the start to make sure it happens.
“At this stage there is nothing to lose,” Abedi told KickOffGhana.com. “A point will not be good enough and a loss will amount to the same thing. Under the circumstances the coach must take risks and play as many experienced names as possible who have the ability to deal with that kind of situation.”
Abedi reckons Asamoah Gyan should be given a big role with Ghana in desperate need of goals.
Ghana last played Burkina Faso at the 2002 Nations Cup facing a similar must win situation to reach the knockout stages. And typical of games involving the two countries it proved a tough affair with two dramatic late goals by Isaac Boakye clinching the deal for the Black Stars.
Abedi expects another close call. “The Burkinabes have nothing to lose, they want a point and are likely to sit deep so the pressure is on Ghana. Burkina is a good side but I am very confident this is a game the Stars will win.”
