A group of NPP youth this morning besieged the premises of a Tamale-based radio station, Diamond FM to attack a panelist on a discussion programme. The youth have been seizing vehicles they claim belong to the party but are in private hands.Commenting on the conduct of the youth on Diamond FM Wednesday morning, Alhaji Karim who is said to be in possession of one of the party vehicles alleged that the youth were acting on the instructions of former Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama.
According to him, some elements within the party are plotting the defeat of the NPP’s flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2012 elections, threatening if those elements want the party dismantled, they will help them do that.He said the issue is not about car seizures but ploys by these elements to derail the party’s ambitions in the upcoming elections. His comments did not go down well with the NPP youth who besieged the radio station.Spokesperson of the NPP youth denied any ploys by the former Vice President to derail the campaign of the NPP.He however confirmed the seizures, saying the will re-brand the cars in the colours of the NPP once they are all retrieved.Source: Joy News/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
