Ghanaian rapper Edem may be the next creative to announce his bid to contest a seat in the NDC parliamentary primaries.
In a social media post, the Volta Regime boss posted an artwork bearing his photo and the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) insignia, with his inscription: "Denning Edem Hotor aka Edem Goget’em. Big Announcement coming soon. Fully Active."
It is not clear what his announcement slated for tomorrow, March 22, 2023 will be about, but some have suggested he may informing the public of his intention to contest a seat in the NDC parliamentary primaries.
On February 22, 2023, the party opened nominations for its presidential and parliamentary primaries for the 2024 elections.
According to the timetable released by the party, submission and filing of nominations forms will take place from Monday, March 20, 2023 to Wednesday March 22, 2023.
Edem would not the first entertainment person to contest a seat in the NDC parliamentary primaries. Music and media entrepreneur Baba Sadiq is vying for the Okaikoi Central Constituency seat. At the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency are two actors, John Dumelo and Fred Nuamah.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced May 13, 2023, for both presidential and parliamentary primaries.
