The Former President of the Republic of Ghana Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings and Group Chief Executive Officer of CDH Financial Holding Mr. Emmanuel Adu-Sarkodie were given special honorary awards at the State Banquet on Fathers day.
The awards were given to them by Media, Marketing and Events Company Ozon Media during the 2nd Edition of the Fathers Day Buffet Lunch Dance at the Banquet Hall.
The honorary award to Ex- President Rawlings was for bringing a stable democracy to Ghana, maintaining the democracy and being a true father of the Nation.
Part of his citation read, “ Irrespective of your political party affiliation, you criticize all political divides when it is due and you prescribe solutions to problems in the country”.
Organizers of the event indicated that these attributes motivated them to honour former President Rawlings.
Mr. Emmanuel Adu-Sarkodie was also honoured for taking care of street children by providing them with food, shelter and education through his outreach to transform the lives of these helpless young boys and girls in the streets of Accra.
On receiving the award, the group CEO of CDH holdings, Mr. Sarkodie thanked Ozon Media for the honor and said there are a lot of vulnerable children on the streets who need love and care because some do not genuinely have parents to cater for them. He said he has become both a mother and father to some of these street kids and his little contribution in their lives is helping them immensely. He used the occasion to urge those who can help street children to do so because their gesture will go a long way to reduce crime and produce some great leaders for Ghana.
Meanwhile, the Father’s Day buffet Lunch Dance saw spectacular performance from Nana Acheampong, AB Crentsil, Adani Best and Hot Prof the Poet. The audience enjoyed their Buffet Lunch and Royal Club fruit drinks from Raju Ghana Limited and free framed photograph from Photo Club Imaging.
According to officials from SIC Life Insurance, Ivory Savings and Loans and Star Life Assurance who attended the programme , they were happy to part of the event since fathers in recent times are more responsible when it comes to taking care of their families, and also the event is a good platform to celebrate and honour good fathers.
