Former president, Jerry John Rawlings, is courting the support of Ghanaians to enable president Mahama restore what he calls sanity in the country.
According to him, some negative acts going on in the country require the cooperation of Ghanaians to enable the president succeed.
"The young president is doing what he can and he has invited all to get involved in fighting some of the negative tendencies in the country. I sincerely hope that we would be able to restore some sanity in the not too long future", he intimated.
Mr. Rawlings made the comment during a courtesy call on the family of the late Harry Sawyer, who served as education minister and council of state chairman during the Rawlings administration.
Mr. Rawlings said Harry Sawyer was very instrumental in the country’s development.
"It therefore shouldn't have come as any surprise when in the 80's, we brought him on board to help in the various sectors of our development programme", the former president asserted
Eulogizing Harry Sawyer, Mr. Rawlings indicated that " he has been a man, who has within his state shared his wisdom, his concerns about things and has truly been one of the stabilizing personalities not only in government but the society at large, and within the party machinery, when he would occasionally act as chairman of the council of elders".
