The office of His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings has noted with concern a publication by the Ghana News Agency stating that the former President will address a National Delegates Congress of the United Cadre Front. The report credited to the Press Secretary of the United Cadres Front is false.
The general public is informed that President Rawlings has not accepted an invitation from the United Cadre Front and will not be attending the meeting in Kumasi. We wish to caution institutions and organisations that send invitations to the former President not to issue statements to the media confirming his acceptance of such invitations when he has not done so.The office also calls on the media to endeavour to crosscheck with our office when they receive statements announcing President Rawlings’ participation at events.Thank you.
