Mr. Ebenezer Ofoe Caesar, the District Chief Executive for Fanteakwa has urged farmers to report herdsmen whose cattle destroy farmlands to the appropriate authorities for redress.
He made the call at Mpaem following reports that cattle of herdsmen continued to destroy farmlands and contaminate sources of water for the people in the area.Mr. Caesar said it was an offence for herdsmen to allow their cattle to destroy crops on farms and equally illegal for farmers to kill cattle that destroyed crops. The DCE, however, expressed concern at the perpetual nefarious activities of herdsmen in the district. He said the Assembly was working hard for the establishment of a district police headquarters at Begoro to facilitate the operations of police personnel in the area.Source: GNA
