The private residence of the Wa Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Alhaji Issahaku Tahiru Moomin has been gutted by fire.
The three-bedroom bungalow which was completed a few weeks ago and is yet to be occupied by the MCE had all valuable assets completely destroyed by the fire.
Although personnel from the Ghana Fire Service who doused the fire are yet to conclude their investigation, the Wa MCE suspects foul play.

Speaking to JoyNews' Rafiq Salam, the MCE accused supporters of the defeated Wa Central NPP parliamentary candidate, Hajia Humu Awudu of being behind the act.

According to the MCE, the defeated aspirant has accused him and other NPP stalwarts in the region of leading the campaign against her, hence her defeat.

Meanwhile, the police has commenced investigation into the incident.
