A group of rice importers is staging a demonstration at the Elubo border.
They are protesting against what they describe as exorbitant import tariffs.
The demonstration comes a day after reports that truckloads of imported rice are being kept near the border post Rice importers at Elubo are demonstrating against the new tariff they are asked to pay by the customs division of the Ghana Revenue Authority.
They are demonstrating at the Elubo border. The demonstrators say it is an attempt by CEPS to disgrace the Atta Mills’ government and therefore the President should step in to help.
The demonstrators say their goods had been blocked at the border costing them huge losses.
