The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has disclosed that his Ministry is taking proactive steps to strengthen institutional capacity by seeking financial clearance to recruit additional technical personnel.
"To improve oversight and project delivery, agencies under the Ministry have applied for financial clearance to recruit additional technical staff," he said at the Government's Accountability Series on Wednesday.
Mr Agbodza explained that the recruitment forms part of a broader effort to enhance professionalism, accountability, and technical expertise within agencies under the Ministry.
He also disclosed that the Koforidua Training Centre is developing a robust training calendar to build the capacity of key stakeholders within the sector.
"Simultaneously, the Koforidua Training Centre is preparing a comprehensive training calendar to build the capacity of: Ministry and agency staff, Road contractors and consultants, and Regional engineers and district officers."
"Key focus areas include contract management, materials testing, engineering supervision, and safety audits—all critical to enhancing project outcomes and sustaining infrastructure quality," he added.
