A new military standard robust smartphone dubbed Action-X3 and other handsets from Crosscall is set to hit the Ghanaian market soon.
Action-X3 rocks a solid body and a tough 5-inch Gorilla Glass 4 touchscreen with a MIL-STD-810G military standard to be resistant to every extreme condition, and yet it looks sleek and trendy as well.
The handset comes with every feature expected of any high-end smartphone plus much more.
In terms of basic specifications, the Action-X3 is 4G, has dual SIM, a 2GB internal memory (ROM) and 3GB operating memory (RAM), which makes it work very fast and smooth.
Action-X3 also boasts of a 3500mAh battery, 12 megapixel large pixel technology camera and 5 megapixel selfie camera, 1280 x 720 HD resolution, can take a Micro SD card of up to 128GB; the operating system is Android 7.1.2 Nougat, and the processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8937 type with 1.4GHz Octo-Core feature.
The Action-X3 is the first mobile with a fastening system integrated into its design and construction. X-LINK technology is a magnetic connection system that allows you to recharge your phone, transfer data and connect the phone to a whole ecosystem of accessories comprising of X-Power, X-Bike, X-Car and X-Dock, which make it easy for the phone to be mounted and charged in a car, on a bike, in the kitchen, office and other places while still in safe use for heavy-duty activities.
“But the real power of Action-X3 lies in its tried and tested resilience and resistance to several harsh conditions that tend to impact negatively on similar products on the market,” Country Sales Agent for Crosscall, Robert Oduro said.
To meet the military standard, Action-X3 have gone through 11 selected usage corresponding laboratory tests to certify their resistance to hostile and demanding outdoor environments.
The tests showed the handset is waterproof, and resistance to water, heat, impact, pressure, cold, solar radiation, rainfall, high altitudes, fog, vibration, thermal shock, and acceleration, among other harsh conditions.
But Action-X3 is not alone; it comes with a series of other smartphones and feature phones from Crosscall, which are each designed for sports enthusiasts who want to capture every moment of the fun without thinking of accidental damage to their phones, the mining sector, the security agencies (military, police, fire service, Navy etc), construction industry, oil and gas industry, out-field workers and even mechanics due to the rugged nature and sleek look of the handset.
The real-life situation under which Action-X3 and other Crosscall handsets can be used apart from everyday situations include aviation, expeditions, parachute jump, paragliding, mountain climbing, at sea, in water, in cold stores, and under highly tropical conditions like Ghana.
Other situations include construction sites, winter sports like skiing and mountaineering, water sports, for fishing, on boats and kayaks without sea breeze damaging it, in heavy rain and even under thick fog.
Its resistance to liquid contamination indicates that professionals in construction, laboratories, painting, use of ink and mechanics can easily clean off any stain on it using simple varnishes, cleaning agents, grease removers, etc.
The vibration and impact resistance allows the phone to be convenient for biking, quad-biking, motorbiking, car racing, 4x4, jet skiing, mountain biking, on construction sites, and can easily survive falls.
In spite of all the unique military features, Robert Oduro said affordability is top on the minds of Crosscall, as the feature phones are priced between GHC250 and GHC 400 and the smartphones cost between GHC800 - GHC2,000.
