Michael Tonnah, a 25-year-old sales promoter, was on Monday granted a GH¢500 bail with surety to be justified by a circuit court at Cape Coast for allegedly stealing GH ¢250 belonging to PZ Cusson Company.
He pleaded not guilty and would re-appear on December 17, 2007.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Hope Azasoo told the court, presided over by Mr Richard Asiedu-Badu, that Tonnah was employed on September 23 2007 as a sales promoter and started collecting goods on wholesale basis for supply to customers in Kotokuraba market and other markets.
He said by October 2007, Tonnah had incurred a debt of over GH¢ 250 and when he was questioned, he said he had sold the goods to the customers on credit.
He said the matter was reported to the police and Tonnah led them to the various customers he claimed to have sold the items to, but they all denied owing him any money.
